Tourism plays a pivotal role in sustainable development. Sustainable Tourism Indicators (STIs) are crucial measures of the effects of tourism on all dimensions of sustainability. The present study proposes an innovative classification system for sustainable tourism indicators according to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and related targets of Agenda 2030. This system can be useful for monitoring the contribution of tourism to the achievement of each Goal and supporting sustainability-driven policies in tourism. Abstract
