This article provides a reflection on the role of Sartori's archetypal figure in the development of political science as "knowledge to be applied" and a means for decision-making. It deconstructs this conception and aims to illuminate novel scenarios by examining his concept of logic and language in the second part of his career. The study starts by looking at the paradigm he developed, based by his views on idealism. The second part of the study explores new ideas that rethink the teaching of philosophy, particularly about logic and language. It is argued that Sartori shifted towards a new way of thinking about science, turning it from a tool for politicians into a logical instrument for democracy. This could lead to Sartori adjusting to a discursive-poststructuralist way of thinking. The objective is to stimulate a debate within the discipline of political science that builds on and improves the legacy of Sartori in a new way, thereby rendering the discipline more relevant to democratic life and lessening its perception as merely an applied discipline
