We study superconducting correlations in small metallic dot with fixed particle number in an applied magnetic field. We determine the tunneling spectra finding a good qualitative agreement with experimental data. For utrasmall dots we report an example of ``softening{''} of the crossover by a ``superconductive{''} state to a normal one due to the magnetic field.
