Between 1874 and 1878 two silver lamellae were unearthed on the Esquilino Mount in Rome. They belong to a peculiar kind of protective amulets widely used in the Mediterranean area in Late Antiquity. These two lamellae are both inscribed, the first in Greek (protective incantation against seleniasmòs) and the other in Greek and Square-script letters. The article presents the Hebrew text of the latter amulet, a bilingual one that has only one parallel known to date (Oxford, Ashmolean Museum).
Tra il 1874 e il 1878 due lamellae d’argento furono scoperte sull’Esquilino. Entrambe appartengono ad un particolare tipo di amuleti protettivi largamente usati nell’area del Mediterraneo nella Tarda Antichità. Queste due lamine sono state entrambe iscritte, la prima in greco (formula protettiva contro il seleniasmòs) e la seconda (bilingue) in greco e in scrittura aramaica quadrata. L’articolo presenta il testo ebraico della lamina bilingue, di cui si conosce un solo parallelo (Oxford, Ashmolean Museum).
