The organization of a sustainable site cannot be separated from a design process that takes sustainability as a constant reference. A sustainable site must be based on relationship with the context, as barer of inputs, has to safeguard the available resources, has to consider that the intervention could affect the site. Particularly resources as ground, water, air and energy must be used but also protected and preserved, preferring sustainable constructive techniques, materials and methods of organization. Indeed the sustainability counts the housing comfort but also the protection of the water- bearing stratum, the reduction of the pollutant and the workmanship waste, the use of local workforce. The recovery site, in this sense, can be defined sustainable if it safeguards the existing heritage.
