Several studies question Qur’anic anthropocentrism through the reading of some exegetical works that leave room for different reflections and interpreta- tions on the notion of istikhlāf and taskhīr, and more generally, allow us to fur- ther focus on the complex relationship between human beings and the animal world. My intention is to address these issues starting from the interpretation of the term dābba/dawābb, often translated and understood to refer only to ani- mals, as handed down to us by two Qur’anic commentaries, both entitled al- Tafsīr, written respectively by ʿAlī al-Qummī (d. after 919) and by Muḥammad al-ʿAyyāshī (d. 932): two works that convey numerous materials circulating at the time, in the form of accounts ascribed to the imams of the Imamite Shiite chain.

Abstract
932): two works that convey numerous materials circulating at the time, in the form of accounts ascribed to the imams of the Imamite Shiite chain.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
