The paper outlines the programmatic framework that has been developed in recent years within the research activities of the chair of Methodology of the archaeological research at the University of Catania, with the aim of providing students with precise, up-to-date, and methodological approaches. Building on earlier studies that highlighted the need to invest in the analysis of the material culture, the paper demonstrates how, through the examination of an archaeological context from the ancient city of Syracuse, it has been possible to create a platform that fosters dialogue among different categories of specialists. By drawing on contexts and materials of the Hellenistic and Roman periods, this collaborative approach establishes solid reference points concerning chronology, production processes, and typological aspects, all of which are strategic to the training of archaeologists engaged in the study of material culture of the ancient world. The paper also sets out the guidelines adopted by all the research team within the SHERDs project.

Abstract
The paper also sets out the guidelines adopted by all the research team within the SHERDs project.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
