The study is part of a wide-ranging area of interest, combining the teaching of the disciplines of drawing and surveying and the valorisation of historical architectural heritage (theatres and historic cinemas of the 19th and 20th centuries significant in the cultural life of cities). Besides their architectural value, they also represent a piece of social and cultural history in Catania. Teaching is based on an integrated methodological approach that combines theory and practice through the analysis of historical-archival documents, the testing of different graphic expressions (life drawing for the critical understanding of architecture and technical drawing for the objective representation), analogue surveying and the use of digital technologies (3D modelling, photogrammetry, laser scanning). These digital tools make it possible to collect, visualise and make use of different types of information and data about buildings, enhancing the understanding of their evolution from the original project and providing students with digital and traditional technical skills. In this way, students are actively involved as co-authors in all aspects of the learning experience and participate in the process of learning about often forgotten and inaccessible architecture. The research and results offer a practical method for the architectures' valorisation, which is also useful for restorers, architects, historians and local administrations, and promote greater community awareness and participation by organizing exhibitions and events open to the city. The originality lies in the integration of advanced surveying and representation methods with a didactic approach that actively involves students in the process of valorising, documenting and disseminating the architectural heritage.

Abstract
The originality lies in the integration of advanced surveying and representation methods with a didactic approach that actively involves students in the process of valorising, documenting and disseminating the architectural heritage.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
