Paradiso terrestre e Paradiso immaginario

A route between outer space and inner space. Starting from the historical-religious and iconographic researches of L.I. Ringbom and H. Corbin, the study aims at reconstructing the dynamics of the intersection between the symbolic place of worship and its inner perception. In this perspective, the shrine of the Mazdean Magi of Takht-i Sulayman (Persian Azerbaijan) stands as the foundation of the iconography of what in the Christian tradition was to become the representation of the Earthly Paradise.

Un itinerario tra spazio esteriore e spazio interiore. Partendo dalle ricerche storico-religiose e iconologiche di L.I. Ringbom e di H. Corbin, lo studio si propone di ricostruire l’itinerario simbolico al crocevia tra luogo di culto e sua interiorizzazione. In questa prospettiva il santuario dei Magi mazdei di Takht-i Sulayman (Azerbaijan persiano) si pone come fondamento iconografico di ciò che nella tradizione cristiana diverrà la rappresentazione del Paradiso Terrestre.
