Abstract
Re-examination of the beaked jug (inventory number C 1648)that was found during the first excavations in Phaistos (probably in the area of the palace) has provided the opportunity to reconsider some ceramics that are characterised by a substantial stylistic negligency in their decoration, and which are typical of the Western Mesara. In this paper it is argued that these ceramics were produced by artisans who worked at the domestic level rather than being integrated into specialized workshops.File in questo prodotto:
