Erythematous and edematous eruption of the face

A 31-year old Caucasian patient presented at our Hospital with a 5-year history of an erythematous and edematous itchy eruption affecting her face and trunk. After 10 days interrupthion systemic steroidal treatment, a cutaneous biopsy, taken from a follicular lesion on the face, showed spongiosis accompained by eosinophilic and mononuclear cell. Diagnosis: Eosinophilic pustular folliculitis (Ofuji disease). We treated our patient with oral doxycycline at 100 mg/d for 30 d, with dramatic response and good clearing of the lesions.
