Thermal expansion coefficient and volume changes accompanying phase transitions of p-alkyl-p' -cyano-cyclohexyl-cyclohexanes have been determined by a fast scanning dilatometric method. A relation between the percentage changes of volume and the phase involved in the transition is given. A comparison with calorimetric data is al so reported.
