In this letter a functional model of an industrial flyback converter is introduced. Its accuracy within a defined condition range is shown. The complexity of the system is discussed by using experimental data. Moreover, it is shown that the complex dynamics of a flyback converter can be clusterized in some classes of well-known paradigms appearing in some defined canonical circuits.
