Spectra of coincident charged particles from the reactions induced by a 18 MeV He-6 beam incident on the Li-6 and Li-7 targets were measured. A strong contribution to the He-6-d spectrum may be interpreted as the He-6 quasi-free scattering off the deuteron in the Li-6 nucleus. This would then be the first observation of the quasi-free scattering of fragile radioactive nuclei on clusters in target nuclei.

Abstract

Spectra of coincident charged particles from the reactions induced by a 18 MeV He-6 beam incident on the Li-6 and Li-7 targets were measured. A strong contribution to the He-6-d spectrum may be interpreted as the He-6 quasi-free scattering off the deuteron in the Li-6 nucleus. This would then be the first observation of the quasi-free scattering of fragile radioactive nuclei on clusters in target nuclei.
