The structural equation model in the university research system

In this paper we want to show the propensity to return to Italy of a sample of Italian academics who have emigrated abroad and we provide a new empirical evidence through structural equation models (SEM).With SEM we have obtained more information about the relations between the variables and the propensity to return. Moreover, the estimate of the endogenous variables used to identify significant factors as contributing to generate indirect influences on the propensity to return, via the direct relationship with the exogenous factors.
