The nuclear source formed in the E/A = 45 MeV Ni + Al collision has been characterized by simultaneously fitting the nn and pp correlation functions with a statistical model. A pre-equilibrium component emitted on a fast time-scale has been identified both for neutron (∼ 13% of the total neutron yield) and proton (∼ 35% of the total proton yield) emission, while the bulk of the data is explained by evaporation.

Abstract
The nuclear source formed in the E/A = 45 MeV Ni + Al collision has been characterized by simultaneously fitting the nn and pp correlation functions with a statistical model. A pre-equilibrium component emitted on a fast time-scale has been identified both for neutron (∼ 13% of the total neutron yield) and proton (∼ 35% of the total proton yield) emission, while the bulk of the data is explained by evaporation.File in questo prodotto:
