In this paper we report the results of seismological studies recently conducted at Mt. Etna by Italian and foreign researchers. By the use of advanced mcthods, detailed studies have been carried out on thc deep structurcs of the voleano and the related seismic phenomena. Such studies could be useful in understanding magma ascent mechanisms. The following problems have been examined:
