The analysis of asymptotic waves for the hydrodynamical model of semiconductors is presented. The asymptotic expansion is based on the reduction-perturbation method. For the resulting system of equations an appropriate numerical scheme is formulated. Numerical solutions show the possible formation of strong gradients from a smooth initial profile.

Abstract
