The electric dipole moments of 2-thiophenesulphonyl chloride, its 5-chloro,5-bromo, 5-iodo,5-methyl, 5-nitro derivatives and 2-furansulphonyl chloride have been measured. The data obtained have been analysed and discussed in terms of molecular solute conformation.
