Abstract

The (18)O(p, alpha)(15)N reaction is of primary importance to pin down the uncertainties affecting present-day models of asymptotic giant branch stars. An indirect measurement of the low-energy region of the (18)O(p, alpha)(15)N reaction has been performed by means of the Trojan Horse Method. We discuss why the plane wave approximation is justified by evaluating what changes the more correct DWBA approach introduces.
