Outcome evaluation of breast reconstructive surgery is based on linear measurements and visual volume assessment. These estimatesbarely describe the geometrical properties of the breast surface and are somehow misleading when objective evaluation and data exchange arerequired. Thanks to modern digital three-dimensional scanning technique we introduced a new parameter in breast shape evaluation: the local mean curvature.
