Blood samples were withdrawn -30, 0, 30, 60, 90, and 120 min after interleukin-l injection. Interleukin-l stimulated ACTH and corticosterone secretion in a dose-related manner with different AUC depending upon treatment in both 2- and 24 month-old Sprague-Dawley rats. Results suggest that immunomodulators may restore the functional integrity of adrenal-immune feedback during aging

Abstract
