This contribution evokes the theme of denial of women during the time of the witch hunt, with a review of the Malleus Maleficarum, perhaps the known manual of the Inquisition. The authors of this manual are openly critical of any form of ambition of women, to be pursued through the control of the body and pedagogical models. In contrast, the critical reading of Jules Michelet rehabilitates the figure of the witch character on the border between reality and imagination, which is defined as a wise woman.

Abstract
This contribution evokes the theme of denial of women during the time of the witch hunt, with a review of the Malleus Maleficarum, perhaps the known manual of the Inquisition. The authors of this manual are openly critical of any form of ambition of women, to be pursued through the control of the body and pedagogical models. In contrast, the critical reading of Jules Michelet rehabilitates the figure of the witch character on the border between reality and imagination, which is defined as a wise woman.File in questo prodotto:
