“Earthship” can be considered an alternative dwelling approach based on passive houses made of earth and poor materials – mostly recovered. Its shape is strongly characterized and recognizable by some invariants (location, exposure, the conservatory) that give it a specific cultural and formal identity. It can be implemented in urban and land policies as a way for reducing the environmental pressures, spreading an earth/sun-based building culture, integrating ecological issues in economy. This experimentation aims at verifying the integration of an earthship-based settlement pattern in a possible urban decolonization process within a neighborhood of Comiso (RG) – Italy. It envisages some different layouts composed by three dwelling types, and combines a cost-revenues analysis with some environmental indicators.

Abstract
It envisages some different layouts composed by three dwelling types, and combines a cost-revenues analysis with some environmental indicators.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
