Conflittualità d'uso delle acque. Indagine sul tratto montano del fiume Simeto

In this study some problemsconcerning the right use of a public resource and of the possible conflicts that may flare out between different publicor private subjects involved in its use, are examined. With the use of an adequate multicriteria evaluationtechnique based on a fuzzy approach, some alternative hypothesis for a water reserve plan in Sicily have beenexamined in order to identify the best way to satisfy the criteria of economic efficiency and of social equity. Thefuzzy approach has been used for overcoming the existing limits in representing the complex reality and theimprecision of the available data and information. The results obtained may represent some useful indications forthose that have to choose which alternative satisfies both the criteria of economic efficiency and that of socialjustice.
