Sicily is 4 th wine producers’ region in Italy and, in a total vineyard area of 125 000 hectares, it gets an average of wine production around 6 million hectoliters. However, in recent years, the international economic crisis has even invested the economy of Isle, slowing down the economic performance of whole regional wine industry.The aim of this paper is to analyze the wine industry sector of Sicily, taking into account its economic and managerial outlook, through an evaluation of financial ratios (2008-2009) of business companies. In particular, an analysis through balance sheet ratios has been carried out in order to evaluate both the effectiveness and efficiency of the sector.
