In this paper we focus on a simulation analysis of the behaviour of the DQDB access protocol when the offered load only derives from data sources or multimedia sources, with both multiple priority levels and the Bandwidth Balancing Mechanism (BBM) activated. The analysis presented is oriented towards the evaluation of the effect the BBM has on access delay and bandwidth sharing with various kinds of loads, so as to investigate the possibility of implementing a multimedia information system by means of a DQDB MAN.

Abstract
In this paper we focus on a simulation analysis of the behaviour of the DQDB access protocol when the offered load only derives from data sources or multimedia sources, with both multiple priority levels and the Bandwidth Balancing Mechanism (BBM) activated. The analysis presented is oriented towards the evaluation of the effect the BBM has on access delay and bandwidth sharing with various kinds of loads, so as to investigate the possibility of implementing a multimedia information system by means of a DQDB MAN.File in questo prodotto:
