Background. Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) is a complaint of any involuntary leakage of urine due to effort, exertion, sneezing or coughing. Women s suffering from Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) quality of life (QoL) has been hardly studied. Methods. Stress Psychological Measure (SPM) was administered to women diagnosed with SUI (n=70). Analysis of variance (ANO- VA) was run for statistical evaluation. Results. Length and severity of pathology were found to be the most relevant factors interfering with Stress arid thus with QoL. Conclusions. Women with SUI experience stress, anxiety and negative feelings. These negative psychological effects are potentially more important than the medical effects of the disease. Communication between doctor and patient needs to be improved in order to carry out early and suitable cures.
