Ayia Triada tablets, findspots and scribes. A reappraisal

he reappraisal of the find spots of the tablets from the Casa del Lebete at Ayia Triada demonstrates that the tablets found there belonged to two sets, stored in two separate boxes or chests, all in the same “office”. The analysis of the content of these two sets allow some considerations about the function of this administrative area. Part of the larger administration of the Villa, the Casa del Lebete monitored selected economic activities outside the main building, with a particular concern for the movement of goods from and to the huge granary of the so called Bastione. The interconnections of scribal hands allow some observations about the work of scribes. Hands 2 and 9 in the CdL. They were probably processing information collected also from other scribes, that was subsequently to be sent to the main archive of the Villa.
