The youth studies respond to the sociological need to predict the incoming future and to identify the routes of social and political change. Young people bring new values, orientations, actions and lifestyles that will become predominant in the future. Observing their behaviour would be essential to identify the first signals of social change. The search for "fractures" in the transmission between generations has been the methodological key to look at the root map of the future: we can compare the specific attitudes of different age classes, or we can observe with a "micro" context-related viewpoint, ‒ family, school, workplaces - the places where this comparison takes shape. In particular, the study deals with the topic of political cleavage between two generations: Ba-by Boomers and Millennials. The analysis utilizes in parallel the micro-data of the ISTAT Multiscopo Survey (2015) and the data from a research that deals with the issue of values transmission within the families of a selection of Italian university students. The dialogue between the two generations takes place also in a family context, in the form of a confrontation between parents and children. The family, which has "sterilized" part of the conflict, takes on different features with a redefinition of roles, able to affect the transmission of values.

Abstract
The family, which has "sterilized" part of the conflict, takes on different features with a redefinition of roles, able to affect the transmission of values.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
