The authors have tested the therapeutic efficacy of a multibacterial combination consisting of Lactobacillus acidophilus (10 9) and Bifidobacterium bididum (10 9) in ederly patients with bowel disorders. Bacteriological and histopathologic investigation showed this conbination to yield excellent biologic results with restoration of duodenal bacterial flora and subsidence of clinical symptoms. The function of the muciparous glands was restored and the duodenal mucosa was normalized
Gli AA. hanno indagato sulla capacità terapeutica dell'associazione polimicrobica costituita da Lactobacillus acidophilus e Bifidobacterium bifidum in pazienti anziani con disturbi dell'alvo. I risultati batterilogici e istopatologici ottenuti hanno confermato l'ottimo ruolo biologico del preparato batteriologico sul ripristino della flora batterica duodenale nonchè sulla remissione della sintomatologia clinica. Il batterioterapico è stato capace di ripristinare l'attività ghiandolare mucipara e di normalizzare lo stato della mucosa duodenale
