Starting from an examination, with multidisciplinary approaches, of issues regardingthe concept of food quality from semantic, economic and juridical-normativeperspectives, the aim of this paper is to develop a framework which takes intoaccount, through analysis of the literature and empirical research, social, legal andeconomic questions concerning consumption behaviours, strategies, business modelsand the existing legislation.It is interesting to remark how the quality policy for agricultural products, as anintegral part of the Common Agricultural Policy (cap), is central to how theaffirmation of a quality agriculture is perceived.European Commission forecasts for the cap for 2013 identify, among other futurechallenges, the quality policy for agricultural products as a core requirement in orderto diversify and enhance the competitiveness of farming activities in rural areas.
Partendo da un esame, in un’ottica multidisciplinare, delle problematiche relative alconcetto di food quality, dal punto di vista semantico, economico e giuridiconormativo,l’obiettivo del presente contributo è quello di elaborare un quadro chedia conto delle componenti sociali, giuridiche ed economiche, attraverso l’analisidella letteratura scientifica e delle ricerche empiriche, sui comportamenti di consumo,sulle strategie, sui modelli di business e sulla legislazione vigente.
