La politica del Partito comunista tunisino (1956-1993) alla luce delle categorie gramsciane: filiazioni e discrepanze

The article focuses on the influence of Antonio Gramsci’s thought on the Tunisian Communist Party (Pct). Founded in the early 1920s in a French-influenced environment, the Pct experienced a turning point in 1957, shortly after Tunisian independence. Midway between patriotism and internationalism, the Pct strove for a “specific” (national) way towards Socialism. Its emphasis on a democratic and social revolution related to local particularities, the option for a “war of position” strategy and the relevance given to ideology in order to reach the people disclose the impact of Gramscian categories, despite scant references to the Italian intellectual.
