Tempi e luoghi del kairòs in Manzoni

The essay aims to analyse the function of kairós – the favourable time – in Manzoni’s works : in the poems, in the tragedies and in the novel there is often a closed place, as the jail, the convent, the island, the « castellaccio », the leper hospital, where the favourable time of conversion is manifested.

Il saggio si propone di analizzare la funzione del kairós, del tempo opportuno, nell’opera di Alessandro Manzoni : nelle poesie, nelle tragedie e nel romanzo è frequente la presenza di un luogo chiuso, sotto la forma del carcere, del convento, ma anche dell’isola, del « castellaccio », del lazzaretto, dove si manifesta il tempo propizio della conversione.
