This paper addresses the problem of predicting acoustical noise. Acoustical noise and related quantities are considered in determining the relationships between noise and its causes. An innovative approach for the manipulation of traffic information is introduced: The fuzzy approach is used in order to obtain the relationship mentioned above. A set of data, collected during a measurement survey performed in a medium sized European town, is considered. The behavior of the fuzzy model is compared with the performance of the classical model, introduced in literature. The reported results show that the proposed fuzzy models contribute an improvement in the capacity to approximate real data

Abstract
This paper addresses the problem of predicting acoustical noise. Acoustical noise and related quantities are considered in determining the relationships between noise and its causes. An innovative approach for the manipulation of traffic information is introduced: The fuzzy approach is used in order to obtain the relationship mentioned above. A set of data, collected during a measurement survey performed in a medium sized European town, is considered. The behavior of the fuzzy model is compared with the performance of the classical model, introduced in literature. The reported results show that the proposed fuzzy models contribute an improvement in the capacity to approximate real dataI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
