Hemangiopericytoma. A clinical case

Although hemangiopericytoma may arise in any anato- mic site, it rarely develops in the greater omentum.We report herein an additional case A review of the reported cases suggests that surgical resection provides the only chance of cure and that a high mitotic index (^4/10 high- power fields) and a tumor size of - ^10cm predict an un favora- ble prognosis after resection.Key words: Hemangiopericytoma, greater omentum, surgery

Anche se l’hemangiopericytoma si può presentare in un luogo anatomico inusuale, si sviluppa raramente nell’omento. Segnaliamo qui una revisione supplementare di un caso I casi segnalati suggeriscono che la resezione chirurgica fornisca l’u- nica probabilità di cura e che un alto indice mitotico (^4/10) e un formato di tumore di ^10cm predice una favorevole prognosi dopo resezione.Parole chiave: Hemangiopericytoma, omento, chirurgia
