We present a high-resolution Atlas of the linearly polarized spectrum of the post-AGB binary 89 Herculis. Data were collected with the Echelle SpectroPolarimetric Device for the Observation of Stars and cover the spectral region from 4,000 to 9,042 Å. This result represents the first “Second Solar Spectrum”-like behavior ever observed in a star different than the Sun. The present atlas wants to be a reference catalog for future observations and theoretical investigations.

Abstract
We present a high-resolution Atlas of the linearly polarized spectrum of the post-AGB binary 89 Herculis. Data were collected with the Echelle SpectroPolarimetric Device for the Observation of Stars and cover the spectral region from 4,000 to 9,042 Å. This result represents the first “Second Solar Spectrum”-like behavior ever observed in a star different than the Sun. The present atlas wants to be a reference catalog for future observations and theoretical investigations.File in questo prodotto:
