Through a close-reading of Jhumpa Lahiri's short story "Mrs Sen's"(1999) this article explores the several meanings of "home" for diasporic and transnational subjects. In particular, this study explores the main protagonist's "no status" liminal state within the the places and the counter-places, literal "Foucauldian heterotopias", delimited by society and inscribed into the American institutions.
