Scenari urbani in mutamento: il multiculturalismo come epifenomeno della metropoli contemporanea

The definition of multicultural society implies not only the mere coexistence of different cultures, but also their reciprocal mode of interaction: a society is multicultural when all its components are respected on an equal footing, regardless of their ethnic origin. Therefore, multiculturalism is a corollary of the metropolitan dimension and is translated not in the mere coexistence between different cultures in the same space, but in the emergence of unprecedented demands for autonomy and visibility. And it is on the basis of the awareness of the richness of diversity that one should think and therefore plan the requalification of the city. A redevelopment in terms of sustainability, which is not limited to the ecological-environmental aspect, but gravitates around the concept of social justice.
