In accordance with the multifunctional farms model, social farming activities are useful instruments to maintain sustainable competitive advantages in certain areas, as these made-to-order services are able to satisfy the needs declared and/or hidden of local communities. The authors claim that social farming activities can be a model of sustainable development for local communities through the construc- tion of an effective relationships network that is able to involve the interested ac- tors within the complex process of social services delivery. The Social Network Analysis has been used to measure the relationships created by the agrisocial farms belonging to a periurban area. The results show effectiveness of relationships net- work and an good level of cross sector collaboration among local actors. This rela- tionships network is able to contributes also to local development.
Alcune attività multifunzionali delle aziende agricole, nate con l’obiettivo di in- tegrare la produzione e realizzare la diversificazione del reddito, quali quelle agri- sociali, possono rappresentare degli utili strumenti nelle strategie competitive so- stenibili in alcuni contesti territoriali, laddove queste estrinsecano servizi capaci di soddisfare le esigenze espresse e/o latenti delle comunità locali. Le attività agriso- ciali possono diventare un modello di sviluppo sostenibile per le aree e per le popolazioni di tali territori; tutto ciò passa attraverso la costruzione di un valido sistema relazionale capace di coinvolgere i soggetti che intervengono nel complesso pro- cesso di erogazione di tali servizi sociali. I risultati della Social Network Analysis, scelta per la misurazione delle relazioni attivate dalle aziende agrisociali apparte- nenti ad un’area metropolitana, mostrano, attraverso l’uso degli indici più signifi- cativi, la validità del sistema relazionale attivato, evidenziando un ottimo livello di collaborazione intersettoriale tra gli attori locali.
