In particular, are not yet clear its purpose and the cultural and social milieu in which it was conceived. Here, first we examine some topographic topics in it that situate the scene represented in the imperial port complex of Ostia/Portus. Then, above all, we examine the symbolic elements regarding the safety of navigation and the prosperity that did derive from it.
