Abstract
The Case of a PGI Product. If it was necessary to study diversity of landscapes or scape-diversity, Sicily would be the perfect case study. The countryside, which has already been the subject of legislative protection, and is well-known to a wide variety of academic disciplines,is the chief protagonist in this case, the nexus for the narration of well-known as well as less familiar places, typical of modern Sicily. The various distinctive characteristics of the use of the soil can reveal marked characteristics, from the agrarian and rural points of view, so as to define three main types of landscape: the landscape of intensive crops, that of traditional crops and finally that of complex cropping systems. In addition to the brief description of the agrarian contexts, we propose some reflections on a compromise between aesthetics and utility.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
