The STL (Local Tourist Districts) as they are defined by the art.5 of the Law. 135/2001 seem to be the new model of reference for the reorganization of the tourist field in the Italian regions. In this circumstances a recent Decree of the Sicilian Region has the ambition to reform the entire public organization of the regional tourism through the introduction of the STL. The article intends to introduce the case of a potential STL, the one of the Val di Noto constituted by eight Villages from Sud-Est of Sicily – Caltagirone, Catania, Militello Val di Catania, Modica, Noto, Palazzolo Acreide, Ragusa, Scicli - belonging to three Provinces which have been enrolled by UNESCO in World Heritage List.
