In the last decades, thanks to the development of several irradiation facilities for medical applications, many radiobiology experiments are carried out in nuclear physics laboratories world wide. At Laboratori Nazionalidel Sud (LNS) in Catania, several experiments performed by different groups are aimed at the study of the effects ofion beams on biological samples. In the framework of the experiment IENBIO, for the study of ion beam applicationin the enhancement of biodiversity, a multipurpose experimental apparatus has been set-up in order toautomatically perform irradiation on a lot of samples at once. The experimental set-up, entirely designed andrealized at LNS, will be presented.

Abstract
In the last decades, thanks to the development of several irradiation facilities for medical applications, many radiobiology experiments are carried out in nuclear physics laboratories world wide. At Laboratori Nazionalidel Sud (LNS) in Catania, several experiments performed by different groups are aimed at the study of the effects ofion beams on biological samples. In the framework of the experiment IENBIO, for the study of ion beam applicationin the enhancement of biodiversity, a multipurpose experimental apparatus has been set-up in order toautomatically perform irradiation on a lot of samples at once. The experimental set-up, entirely designed andrealized at LNS, will be presented.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
