A covalently assembled monolayer of 5,10,15-{p-[9-methoxy-three(oxyethylene)]phenyl}-20-(p-hydroxyphenyl) porphyrin molecules was fabricated on silica substrates already functionalized with a covalent 4-ClCH2C6H4-SiCl3 monolayer. The surface chemical characterization was carried out by angle resolved X-ray photoelectron measurements. Moreover, surface morphological characterizations were performed by atomic force microscopy measurements. Present results provide information on the grafting of porphyrin molecules.

Abstract

A covalently assembled monolayer of 5,10,15-{p-[9-methoxy-three(oxyethylene)]phenyl}-20-(p-hydroxyphenyl) porphyrin molecules was fabricated on silica substrates already functionalized with a covalent 4-ClCH2C6H4-SiCl3 monolayer. The surface chemical characterization was carried out by angle resolved X-ray photoelectron measurements. Moreover, surface morphological characterizations were performed by atomic force microscopy measurements. Present results provide information on the grafting of porphyrin molecules.
