Aeschylus’ Oresteia directed by Luca De Fusco (produced by Teatro Stabile di Napoli and Teatro Stabile di Catania) is having today in Italy a great success both with critics and audiences. The experience in the past ‘Ciclo di Spettacoli classici’ at the Greek theater of Syracuse leaded the director to continue the research on classical tragedy in order to combine philological respect and visual experimentation. De Fusco approaches Aeschylus with an actualizing mood in a perfect combine of antique sparks and modern lights into a gorgeous scene setting. This interview is a conversation with the director, where he highlights the sense of some aesthetic solutions (translation, expressive dynamics, visual marks, instrumental score).
