An operative model for regional interventions supporting the citrus sector in sicily

The work aims to the knowledge of the Italian citrus sector and, in particular, of the Sicilian citrus production.It highlightsthe peculiarities of the citrus production in order to provide an indication of the current development conditions of citrus inSicily. After reviewing the technical characteristics of structural Italian and Sicilian citrus production, it analyzes thestrengths and the weaknesses that affect the development of Sicilian citrus. The SWOT analysis of the citrus sector in Sicilyrepresents an important contribution to the process of ex-ante evaluation of programming, and it allows the identification ofthe intervention priorities and strategies to be implemented in order to achieve the goals.
