Psychological characteristics that influence teachers of physical education: sample survey

We analyzed whether some psychological characteristics (self efficiency, stress and working satisfaction) influence a sample of teachers of Physical Education. Five questionnaires: Measurement of Self-Efficiency, QIA (Questionnaire of Interpersonal Adaptation), WS (Working Satisfaction), Psychological Stress Measure (PSM), Semantic Differential (SD) were administered to 70 teachers. We observed that 1) higher scores of stress in the social situations are related with a decrease of dynamism and audacity of the subjects; 2) a confident and enthusiastic tendency for life promotes the positive belief of having the ability to constructively face many problematic situations; c) the subject positively canalizes his/her own feelings and they control their state of stress much more; d) the subject feels him/herself able to constructively face the problems and will work hard to reach one’s goal. The present study underlines the influence of some psychological characteristics (self efficiency and stress, working satisfaction) on a sample of teachers of Physical Education.
