This paper reports some results of the research project “Radiografie lessicografiche” (‘Lexicographic X rays’) – aiming at indexing lists of headwords by means of full-text search routines – developed (since 2006) within the courses in General Linguistics at the Department of Humanities of the University of Catania. In particular, the ways of representing «espressioni», «maniere di dire» and «proverbi» (as educated writers of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries used to call “syntagmatically complex lexicalizations” of various kinds) in the Sicilian-Italian-Latin dictionary by P. Michele Del Bono (1754-59) are here described and discussed. Del Bono’s work is in fact a unique lexicographic enterprise, if compared with the other (albeit notable) ones of the same period, marked as it is by the precise desire to represent the words formed by several words in special sections, as well as within the main lemmary.

Abstract
Del Bono’s work is in fact a unique lexicographic enterprise, if compared with the other (albeit notable) ones of the same period, marked as it is by the precise desire to represent the words formed by several words in special sections, as well as within the main lemmary.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
