Patrimonio diffuso, comunità locali. La "riscoperta": per una ipotesi di valorizzazione dell'ipogeo di Calaforno

The article proposes a hypothesis of promotion for a unique site in the Sicilian prehistoric landscape: the Calaforno’s Hypogeum. The new scientific interest in this monument was manifested through a series of activities (archaeological excavations, metric surveys and laser scanning, an exhibition) which involving the community at a local level with enthusiasm. Therefore the idea of an innovative promotion of the hypogeum and, consequently, the wide territory of Giarratana characterized by multiple archaeological evidences, but excluded from the greater tourist circuits, is born. It is therefore suggested to combine traditional systems with some digital technologies, to allow a wider and more active involvement of users in order to make a smaller reality competitive with the big tourist attractions.
